How many times have you been told "Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions in your life?" If this statement is true, then shouldn't you be asking a lot of questions about where the college is located?

Of course, you know the college is good academically, you know what the sports teams' records were last year, and you know what your friends think of the college. You have reviewed what all the college guides have said about your choices, and you may have asked your guidance counselor what he or she knows about the college. Now it's time to find out the other important things you really SHOULD know.

For example, you should know: What is the nearby community like, not just what the institution like but also the surrounding area? Then there are everyday kinds of questions like the "What's the weather like, is it hot in the summer? How much rain or snow is there what about sunshine?"

Here's another important question: How does the area rank in categories such as amusement, crime, culture, entertainment, medical services, religion, and overall quality of life? Where is the only reliable source for answers to these environmental questions and many more like them?
